Life in the slow- fast lane.

Johannesburg, South Africa

Earlier this year, I decided to escape the fast and furious city life of Johannesburg for the subtle and gentle encounters of the bush. Zimbabwe was my destination. Armed with nothing but my camera, I embarked on an uplifting journey to a world where peace is the order of life, and harmony is the understated.

My trip to Victoria Falls ended up being a trip to 3 different countries, in 3 days. It was Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana. Over here, life is bliss. People take things easy. No drama, no pressure, no stress. A person gives you his word, and keeps it. Everybody is out to help everybody else. It is definitely one of the friendliest places I have ever visited in my entire existence.

My journey took me to some of the most beautiful sceneries on the planet. From the beautiful waters that thunder, to the amazing game parks where nature makes all the rules. I had the opportunity to visit the Chobe National Park in Botswana, where I got to witness a Baboon migration, and I was generally amazed by the family values animals live by. It is truly amazing.

The highlight of my holiday came on the penultimate day of my holiday. I got a helicopter tour of the falls and it was just as breathtakingly as it is from the river. Everything about this place is amazing. I felt like I was in Sophie’s World (a novel by Jostein Gaarder). My life had turned into a reality I’ve always dreamt of, an experience I intend to live over. For this once in my life; I was true to self and fearless of taking risks. I rediscovered my natural intelligence away from media and social networks. I would recommend anyone to visit Victoria Falls at least once in their life time. Tip: for water action, avoid going to the Vic’ Falls in March-April, the water level is at maximum and water rafting is prohibited during this time of the year.
