Eden is a pin-up model and sartorially savvy neo-burlesque performance artist forging ahead with a new show, Eden and The Swan, and cultivating new looks along the way. She gives us insight into her creative process behind the scenes and on the red carpets of Europe.

What is your personal style mantra?

Basically, I am interested in combining past and future looks. If I see someone designing a 40s look in an innovative way, I fall in love easily. Fetishistic elements also never get old for me. Maybe my style is to describe as eccentrically elegant? Femme fatale forever!

Who are your favorite designers?

One of my favorite Berlin labels is DSTM and in terms of hats JasmintheStrange.  And I really love Ulyana Sergeenko and Bohemique from Russia. Otherwise I of course adore the obvious ones like McQueen, Westwood, Gaultier etc.

What item(s) of clothing should every woman have in her closet?

A pair of seamed stockings and a garter belt. Of course, combined with dangerously high heels.

What is the fashion scene like in the city that you live in?

In the area where I live I see a lot of the hipster phenomenon going on. Beards and tight pants for men. White and pink hair for girls and pretty casual and unglamorous. Fashion-wise not much inspiration here for me, to be honest. People don’t dare much. In Germany, it seems to be the highest goal to have a mix between understatement, natural look and I find a kind of conformity. Even like on the red carpets of a movie premiere, for example. Really a pity. So you see, my looks have to be even more extravagant to provide a balance.

Which designer can you not live without?

I own a lot of Stop Staring Clothing dresses that I would not want to miss, for a daily easy-to-do elegant look.

As a performance artist constantly traveling, which cities speak to you in a sartorial way?

There are  a lot of interesting things from London.

If you could describe your fashion sense in a phrase, what would it be?

Constantly developing and I’m looking for timelessness in a way.
