“During quiet periods, rather than taking an aeroplane to the capital, I preferred go down to the large seaport

through the river” – Alvaro Mutis, The Tramp Steamer’s Last Port of Call – Page 39

We loved this design team during ColombiaModa 2013 where we were simply swept away by the fabulous tailoring and presence in the menswear space. This season, Mon & Velarde are beautifully inspired by the idea of transport, specifically the ports of Barranquilla Colombia, where ships dock and depart as part of the ongoing circle of commerce. Mon & Velarde uses this sea-faring spirit towards their latest mens collection. We love the mapped out shirt and blazer (how cool!) and slick suits that have a subtle global appeal. Spring/Summer 2015 definitely has a very international feel and we love it!
