Must be the sauce

Manila street fashion scene found its way in a delish website mustbethesauce.tumblr.com

Manila, Philippines

A new fashion website served in a one-of-a-kind and spicier dish to shake-up Manila’s fashion taste buds has been put up this year by a group of young and hip fashion lurkers to chronicle and ‘cam-sauce’ the bold, confident and stylish Filipino youths donned in street wear fashion.

Who’s cookin’?

Art Director, graphic designer and photographer Teks Pabuayon focuses on the photography, brand identity and over-all look of mustbethesauce. June de la Rosa serves as freelance writer. Samantha Feleo is the fashion stylist and editor of the website.

(since their writing best explains the vibe of this really neat blog, we just left it up to them to explain it to us)..;-)

What sauce?

Dang, what’s your sauce? That really sums it up. Just like the “sauce” makes a dish delish, we want to ask people what is the ‘sauce’ or the thing that gels or makes their whole look pop. We love fashion but we wanted to chuck the cliché and shake the rules a bit. So, we poke our noses into the hip, daring styles of 13-25 from the streets of honky-tonk or the proverbial watering holes where the common young chill.

Our target: someone who has style sass!

What’s the dish?

Dollops of pizzaz! We wanted to be contrarian so we veer away from the usual self-centered fashion blog-writing or the too strait-laced language of the fashion establishment and opt for something fun, sassy and kooky. We are confident in the vibrant and totally adorable fashion pizzaz of our youthful clientele and so far, we haven’t been disappointed. We want to celebrate the new, the young, and the standouts.

Who’s innit?

We usually hang and “cam-sauced” residents of top nocturnal watering holes in the metro and highlight fashion events, concerts or other happenings that are quirky and oozing with talent. Experience tells us that these spots are where the daring dressers congregate. MBTS has four categories: the mustbethesauce featuring individual dressers, the SAUCE HANGOVER covers spanking events and SAUCED OUT pinpoints brands we dig. SAUCE OF THE WEEK, our weekly editorials, highlights personalities or groups who have standout styles.

So clearly Manila is making sure that their street style gets noticed. We noticed it too! Kudos!
