Spring Blooms!

Buenos Aires brought the florals of Spring to full bloom with their Spring/Summer 2015 show in Argentina. Here are our favourites!

BENITO

Benito Fernandez is a stalwart of the Buenos Aires fashion scene. His style can be seen on the red carpet, as he’s the go-to person for dressing fashion notable, society set and everyone in between. Having worked towards his degree from Paris American Academy in 1985, Fernandez continues to give to the next generation of designers via his professorial capacity at Camara Argentina de la Moda. This season his palette is all about colour, texture and prints. With a bit of whimsy and fearless embrace of fashion fun, Fernandez with his eponymous line, Benito, puts the spring back on the steps on the runway.

GENEBRA

Genebra (Geneva) shares its name with the Swiss city that epitomizes the clean, sophisticated style.  This season Genebra brings forth to the Argentinian runways a very strong and slick collection called “La Rural” which brings an allure of Miami nights. Black and white ensembles evoke a very cosmopolitan allure with clean silhouette and pops of detail including studded shrunken jacket, the embroidered palm tree motif on the skirt and the must have now black leather jacket. Genebra’s collection can easily be seen on the fashionphiles of Miami or New York.

LAS PEPAS

Las Pepas also relies graphic prints as their backbone to their Spring/Summer season. With cute mini sarong-type skirts, fantastic turban-esque headpieces and sleek metallic jackets, Las Pepas brings a hipster type flare to the runways.

LENA MARTORELLO

Lena Martorello has a very Japanese type of vibe with the asymmetrical cuts; free flowing silhouettes and the voluminous detail. An atmosphere of soft, relaxed and a mixed use of fabrics is key to Martorello’s fashion storyboard. Interesting, each piece is sewn along one side, and unfinished therefore as the designer’s storyboard notes;  “technically no garment is completed” thereby emphasizing a more unstructured approach. Simply beautiful!
