Sao Paulo Fashion Week was held celebrating the upcoming Summer 2014 season. And in true Sao Paulo style, the runway was the place to party.

Animale

The floral and tropical motif proves as the basis point for Animale’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection. Plenty of asymmetrical cuts, elegant draping and a wonderful mixture of  textures and applications such as embroidery, brings this collection to life. Using leather, double sided silk, silk mesh, metallic knit and Bali-inspired prints brings to the forefront the tropics which can be easily carried out from the runway to your favourite summer soiree.

Cavalera

When you think of a party in Sao Paulo —  just in Brazil for that matter —  you think of this collection. Fantastic presentation with models literally dancing their way down the ramp. Inspired by the movie “Soul Train” the truly soulful collection celebrates that iconic vibe with patchwork jeans, printed silk and loads of frivolity. And lots and lots of fun!

“The Wonderful World of F”

If the American film maker Wes Anderson decided to use his creative energies towards  fashion show production, I would totally think that this would transpire. The presentation entitled “The Wonderful World of F” by FH by Fause Haten celebrates the  idea of serenity in finding your own style. Their Summer 2014 line is purposely void of any specific theme, as the designers wanted to deliberately create a scene where the consumer is left to create their own inspired fashion movement.  The show itself was a jaw-dropper without the casting of real life models but actual real string puppets — marionettes — who were all inspired by the iconic faces from both the celebrity and supermodel worlds. Specifically, they were puppets counterparts of:  Gisele Bündchen, Thana Kuhnen, Paola Ludtke, Stella Tennant, Aline Weber, Alicia Kuczman, Shalom Harlow, Kate Moss, Carol Trentini, Raquel Zimmermann, Kristen McMenamy, Karen Elson, Alek Wek, Natalia Vodianova, Amber Valletta, Linda Evangelista, Mariacarla Boscono, Naomi Campbell and actress Julianne Moore. Got it? At the end of the puppet parade, the stage then opened up to reveal full sized presentation on human-sized mannequins of each look,  much to the elation of the fashion crowd. FH gets  A+.

Joao Pimenta

His clientele includes young entrepreneurs and those who are in the creative field and it is with that fashion forward gent in ind that he created his Summer 2014 collection. Ensuring that it’s a “wearable” collection comprised of cool and easy to maintain fabrics and crisp  tailoring were key in constructing each particular look. From trousers to blazers, sporty chic to simply sporty, the variety of looks for the fashion forward man is evident here.
