As we continue to cover the fabulous fashions exhibited at PLDT Canada Philippine Fashion Week‘s marquee event, Fashion Premiere Night at Roy Thomson Hall, we can not NOT talk about how the evening took us all the way to Manila by their savvy themed segmentss throughout the show. Francis Libiran‘s epic fashion presentation was of course, amazing, but what was even more ingenious was the evening’s salute to the country’s various festivals. Pistahan de Couture had a parade of key gowns by select designers that were inspired by a particular festival.

Kim Gan

Fantastic colours and pretty incredible embroidery all done by hand. Gan who loves the classic styles of Hepburn and Chanel took this challenge and embraced it with her love of punchy hues which gives off a tropical feel, true to her homeland. And lets not forget the incredible necklace, cuffs and drop-dead gorgeous earrings. All designed by Gan herself.

Kenneth Barlis

This San Diego-based designer is part of the new kids on the block of couture and design. His love for the sweeping romance is translated brilliantly into his three show-stoppers. Here he presented his “Masskara” designs, with gorgeous rosettes, fantastical colours and fabulous theatre. Beautiful. Regal. Romantic.

Norman Noriega

Rock ‘n’ roll fuels this designer’s creative juices and its clear that the tone was hit just right with his take on this theme. Fringe-tastic detail along with the seductive colours of blue, with shimmering and sequins enhancements gives this overall look an urban appeal.

This bridal wear designer brings to the table a wondrous presentation of soft colours packaged in a regal manner. With the intricate detailing with embroidery as well as fabulous treatment of the fabric to add volume and elegance to the bride-to-be. These two gowns as part of his contribution to the themed segment is just jaw-dropping and gorgeous.
