Denmark officially launched its trade mission with Canada last month and Ramp1885 was delighted to attend the ceremony located in the Toronto Distillery District at the Fermenting Cellar. Their Royal Highness, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary lead the largest Danish business delegation of 80 Danish companies to Canada, to strengthen business relations and explore new partnerships across a range of sectors, from food, fashion, interior design and green building.

“This visit is an opportunity for us to share our commitment to sustainability, from construction to fashion,” said Eva Kruse, CEO of the Danish Fashion Institute. “Our DNA brings out the very best in fashion, combining green innovation with great design.”

The Danish fashion community is the fourth largest export economy of Denmark and has successfully exported close to 7.5 billion Canadian dollars in fashion goods in 2013. The two day networking event included a tradeshow which featured 25 Danish brands in fashion, accessories and home décor.

“I would call Danish fashion; fashion for all,” says Kruse. “It applies to many people’s wardrobe and lives and I think that is some of the reasons why it has such a big export potential.”

I was fortunate to connect with some of the brands and cannot wait to feature; SELECTED, WHIITE Copenhagen, Markberg, Ilse Jacobsen and Dyrberg/Kern, on Ramp1885!

Stay tuned!
